Kurt Potgieter, DVM, PHD
Dr. Potgieter graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois in 2007. Throughout his career, Dr. Potgieter has held a special interest and talent for veterinary dentistry and orthopedic surgery. An avid sailor, Dr. Potgieter has sailed through many of the world’s most beautiful places, including Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. His hobbies include horseback riding, spending time with his dogs, gardening, and constantly repairing his backhoe. Dr. Kurt considers it a great privilege to be able to practice medicine on pets and his guiding career principle is to always seek out diagnostics that will best guide treatment.
Mary Mascheck, DVM
Dr. Mascheck joined the Oakwood Animal Hospital team in 1995. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mascheck lives in Norcross with her two dogs and a small herd of cats. She and her dogs are active in agility trials in their free time. Dr. Mascheck was recently nominated for “Best Veterinarian in the Southeast” in the Thank Your Vet for a Healthy Pet contest. In addition to providing exceptional traditional medicine, Dr. Mascheck is also trained in veterinary acupuncture, veterinary orthopedic manipulation, and herbal medicine.
Diana Sanders, DVM
Born in Bogota, Colombia, Dr. Sanders gained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the college of veterinary medicine at LaSalle University in Colombia, she then became fully license in the United States as well. She enjoys working in critical care, surgery and internal medicine. Dr. Sanders in fluent in both English and Spanish, and lives in Duluth With her husband, daughter and 3 dogs. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, dancing and spending time with her family.
